“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” This year I will run a sub 4:30 marathon-no excuses. Last year, I ran 2 fall marathons (4:49 and 4:47). The twins were only 13 and 14 months old at the time, so getting back to running long was hard, but now it’s time to chase my goals!
Today I felt like a true runner-running an 8:38 pace for 5 miles at Cinco de Miler in downtown Chicago. The temps were perfect, the course a little crowded, but overall a fun, great time! I feel like I am finally getting back into shape and ready for a great summer of running!
I’ve made it 14 days out of my 90 day plan of working out everyday. I am trying, no I should say I am working out everyday until our anniversary on May 28th. I’m wanting to run faster, get more miles in, and lose these last 10 pounds. I figure if I do at least 30 minutes of working out everyday this has to happen.
So far, I’ve ran almost 50 miles in the past two weeks, taken 5 one hour classes at the gym, lifted 3 times (I’m working on doing this more), played 4 hours of tennis as well as my Sunday night soccer league games.
Today, it took a lot to get me to run 3.5 miles as I was so sore from a hard run and my bootcamp class that I took last night for an hour. Normally, I would have taken today off, but with this beautiful weather I just took my time to enjoy life outside, while getting healthy too!
My 2012 List of to do’s!!!
Instead of saying, I am going to lose 10 pounds or I am going to quit eating sweets, I decided to write out some goals. These are all things I know I can achieve and plan on checking them off throughout the year!
1. Run a 4:15 marathon
2. Take Michael to Disney World
3. Go to a movie by myself
4. Go to the art museum (I’ve lived here 9 years now and haven’t been!)
5. See a musical
6. Get my blog up and going (no more excuses!)
7. Run a 5k in 25 minutes (25.51 in 2010 has been by best)
8. Take tennis lessons (Jeff and I start lessons next Wednesday)
9. Have confidence in wearing a swimsuit (This will be my hardest one)
10. Read a classic novel (I love my magazines)
